Whats happening with global warming
Did you know that the north pole has been frozen for 100,ooo years? Well, scientists say that by the end of this century that won't be true. Evidence was found that people were contributing to global warming by pumping out greenhouse gases that trap solar heat. This evidence was found by Bob Corell who also said that the seas are rising bringing more chances of stronger hurricanes and that polar bears may become extinct. Polar bears need ice, but a lot of ice is melting because of global warming. I hope that more people will help stop this terrible world disaster before time runs out for the polar bears!

Nancy Pelosi

Nancy Pelosi was born in 1940 in Baltimore, Maryland to Thomas D'Alesandro and Annuniciata D'Alesandro, and was the only girl out of 6 children. Nancy. like her father, was interested in politics, at the age of 16 she was present at a black tie political event, her father with her.
She attended Trinity College, a woman only Roman-Catholic school, there (in D.C.) she met her future hasband Paul Pelosi. Later she married and after having children moved to San Francisco and had another child.
When the representitive of San Francisco got cancer, she suggested that Nancy ran for the seat and there would be a special election.
From 1981-1983 Nancy's duty was to be the chair f the California Democratic Party. All these accomplismeants do sound intriguing, but the most stupendous of them all is she is th first WOMAN speaker of the house.
Nancy's family had a long line of political people, her ad was the mayor of Baltimore, and after his reign ended her brother became mayor, so throughout the years she was inspired by what her other family members did.
All her life Nancy has worked on politics and concerns that have to do with the country and its wellfair. She supports education, helping the envirement, affordable healthcare, and many other concerns that the goverment may sometimes overlook. She does not appreciate the cut in taxes for wealthier people, and the awful war in Iraq, she says, "This is a war that each passing day confirms what I have said before and I will say it again, this war in Iraq is a grotesque mistake; it is not making America safer, and the American people know it."

Global Warming
Lately, global warming has been getting worse and worse. On February 1st some canadian explorers saw two polar bears stranded on melting ice. Although polar bears are great swimmers, they can't survive in the water to long. Luckly, the polar bears made to saftey on time. Another report states that four polar bears have drowned because the couldn't swim in a violent snowstorm. We hope that global warming will end soon but for now, good luck to the polar bears!
